Is The American Dream On Hold? - Working with the Homeless:

Issues with Mental Health and Substance Abuse Workshop


Key Note Speaker: Kim Ball,

Administrator of Homeless Services Montgomery County Government - Will present an overview of the county’s program for the homeless.

Presenters:
Dr. Elizabeth Nyang, LCPC
Dr. Nyang and staff and interns (D. Destefano, D. Isom, T. Allen, G. Hunt, and R. Steffens) will give information on working with court ordered homeless clients with mental health, alcohol and substance abuse problems. (Residents from a shelter program may also present.)

Nina Dillenbeck,LGPC/CAC-AD Addictions Counselor, Will give information about her work with homeless clients in and out of the legal system, the negative impact on mothers and cases where clients chose to be homeless.

Keith Lim, Johns Hopkins Grad Student, will make a presentation on a faith based program for the homeless he founded.
